Our Church Building Project

Building a home for worship, together.

Welcome to our Church Building Project.

Something exciting is happening at Bayanihan Filipino Seventh-day Adventist Church. Our church home on Gates Avenue in Ridgewood is being renovated and improved — and this page is where we will share every step of the journey with you.

A church building is more than brick and stone. It is where our children will learn to pray, where our families will gather every Sabbath, where our community will be welcomed and fed and cared for. Making it ready is a big work, and it is a work no one does alone.

That is what our name means. Bayanihan is the old picture of neighbors lifting a house together — each one carrying a corner, until what would be impossible for one becomes light for many. That same spirit is carrying this project forward today.

Whoever you are and wherever you are, there is a place for you in this work. We can do this together.

Bookmark this page and check back often. As the work moves along, we will post photos and updates here so you can see exactly what your prayers and your generosity are building.

“The glory of this present house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace.”

— Haggai 2:9

Our Vision for This House

A place to worship. A sanctuary that is safe, comfortable, and beautiful — where every Sabbath, hearts are lifted and the Word is preached without distraction.

A place to grow. Rooms where our Adventurers and Pathfinders can meet, where Bible study and prayer groups can gather, and where every ministry has space to do its work well.

A place to serve. A hall ready to welcome the neighborhood — for health programs, community meals, fellowship, and every open door the Lord sends our way.

A place to belong. A home where those far from their own home find family, and where anyone who walks through the door is met with genuine warmth and hospitality.

Every improvement we make is made with these four things in mind. This is not a building project for its own sake — it is a mission project, and the building is simply the tool.

How You Can Help

Give. Every gift, no matter the size, moves this project forward. You can give securely online through Adventist Giving — just choose “Building Fund” when you give. You can also give in person during any Sabbath service by marking your envelope “Building Fund.”

Pray. Pray for safety for everyone working on the building, for wisdom for those making decisions, and for the provision to finish what we have begun.

Lend a hand. Carpentry, painting, cleaning, cooking for the work crew, or simply showing up — there is a place for every willing pair of hands. Get in touch with us and we will let you know when the next workday is.

Thank you for standing with us.
